I’ve been so fortunate with the people I’ve met on this path of glass making. Because of shared passions, many who’ve started out as collectors, have become lifelong friends. The first time that the Habatat Galleries brought a tour to our studio, Rik and I went out to greet everyone as they stepped off the bus. As we were saying hello and shaking hands, a fellow leapt off of the bus, a look of panic in his eyes, and ran past both of us without saying a word,
disappearing into the studio. I thought, well, that was kind of strange but maybe he had to use the restroom badly. It was, after all, a long bus ride.

Later, I found out that he had wanted to be the first to see the available work in our studio and had promptly purchased a Suspended Horse. I’ve had many a chuckle with this man about this time and am super grateful for him, his kind wife and their shared passion for glass and to Habatat for introducing us.
