Support of a new collector to glass helped me to mitigate the price of moving to a new space in 2013.  His purchase of my work allowed me to settle in and get to work smoothly.  I was so thankful. His first purchase was a work titled Anchored.

We became friends and he hired me for a short time, as a part time boss and landscape designer, to design and implement his garden for his new house. I ended up helping to establish his garden, and my boss used my glass elements in the garden. This collector has bought two more artworks from me and is now my friend. He did a good job of staying in touch, making sure that we would have meals together periodically since our first meeting. He is now moving away from Seattle and has been gifting me his house plants and a bit furniture for my new house. I have gotten to see his garden grow in and we have met each other’s family members.

I am thankful for his friendship; he took patronage to a level that has made him my friend as well as a collector of my artwork.
